Why Should you invest in Precious Metals with your SMSF ?
1. Diversification
Gold and silver may act as a store of value and provide stability during periods of economic uncertainty and financial market turbulence.
2. Tangible Assets
Holding physical gold or silver provides the satisfaction of owning a tangible asset, for investors who prefer assets they can see and touch.
3. Safe-Haven Assets
Precious metals offer a diversification opportunity beyond traditional asset classes and can help spread risk and reduce the impact of volatility in other sectors.
4. Lack of Counterparty Risk
Precious metals have historically served as a hedge against inflation. As the prices of goods and services rise over time, the value of gold and silver may also increase, helping to preserve purchasing power.

Our experienced and knowledgeable staff are always happy to assist to answer questions about setting up a SMSF or purchasing gold, silver and platinum and will guide you through every step of the purchasing process.
When purchasing precious metal with AGA, we require certain identification documents regarding your SMSF in order to complete the transaction - these documents include the front few pages and signing pages of your Superannuation Trust Deed. These days, a PDF version of the SMSF Trust Deed is the simplest format of identification. We also require an identification for every Trustee/Shareholder/Member of the SMSF – a driver’s licence will suffice.
If your SMSF has a Corporate Trustee (Pty Ltd), we will also require a company statement/extract from ASIC showing the shareholder(s). Once these documents have been provided to our team, an invoice will be generated for the precious metals purchase in the name of your SMSF. All further purchases will be completed without requiring full identification paperwork.
